Canada Snowbirds Get Their Feet Wet In Florida, At A Popular New Smyrna Beach RV Resort…

Updated: Aug 18, 2021

Going to Florida, leaving Canada behind, can be somewhat daunting for anyone new to the Snowbird way of living. Leaving family, friends and your home behind for warmer skies while seeking out affordable, exciting and adventuresome living in warmer climates can not only bring about healthier habits, it can also introduce you to a whole new way of living in a vibrant and welcoming RV resort community of residents that quickly become your second family.

Heading to New Smyrna Beach, newly retired Bev and Jasper Kleinsburg of New Market Ontario, stopped in to pick up Bev's sister Carol, to join them for a shared pilgrimage and a 6-month escape to this popular Florida destination which is abundant in retirement communities, seniors living resorts and RV park resorts attracting many of Canada's Snowbirds.

Going To Florida

“My sister had been going south to Florida for 20-years. She's been a widow now for a few years so we're taking her down to spend 6 months with us in our RV in our New Smyrna Beach RV resort.”

New Smyrna Beach

"Florida’s Secret Pearl" is not only the second most affordable snowbird destination, but it's also one of Florida’s most popular tourist destinations. Voted one of the best small cities for the arts, New Smyrna Beach is home to a great collection of galleries in addition to shops, cafes and sprawling beaches. Situated on Florida’s east coast just an hour from Orlando, New Smyrna Beach is a fun and vibrant town that offers a quieter scene than its northern neighbor, Daytona Beach.
